What was the highlight of Hotel López de Haro
Good location for exploring Bilbao, 10-15 minutes from both Guggenheim museum and old town
Good location for exploring Bilbao, about 10 minutes from the Guggenheim museum on foot and 15 minutes from the old town on the other side of the river. Rooms were spacious and for the children we got an upgrade to a room with a very large bathroom. Staff generally very helpful and parking very convenient - the parking lot is in the same building, so you can access the car yourself if you need to get something out, but staff will other park the car for you and also get it out again.
Some areas could do with a lick of paint, e.g. the "staff only" doors on our corridor. For Covid-19 reasons the hotel restaurant was completely closed, including for breakfast - this seemed a bit of an overreaction as all other hotels we stayed in during the same period managed to offer breakfast somehow, e.g. with more space between tables and food being ordered rather than on a buffet. At least we were able to look at the restaurant through the glass doors - looked lovely.

A nice, a bit dated hotel in a quiet central location. Very friendly staff.
AC was too weak and did not deliver the temperature set on the dial.

Good
Very central location and utmost friendly staff. We were on a road trip and had our bicycles with us. Not an easy thing to carry on in a city. But the hotel took immediately care of it for us.
The accommodation is very deprecated. For its 5 stars it needs a refreshment.
